Desert Seed Resource Center

Our mission is to increase the availability of native plant materials for the conservation of the desert southwest through education, research, and collaboration. To this end, we have a demonstration plot at Discovery Park called "The Seed Orchard" where we are learning to farm native desert plants on a small scale so that we can share information about the feasibility of these plants to be farmed and, ultimately, work with the community to amplify the amount of seeds available for restoration of lands hit by wildfire or other activities that reduce their natural seed bank.
