Gila Valley Arts Council (GVAC) was formed in 1985 to support and sponsor performing arts in the Gila Valley. During its years of existence, the mission of GVAC has focused on exposing the counties’ youth to the world of the arts. Services are provided in a variety of ways. Garrett’s Sweet Shop is a locally loved sweet shop and ice cream destination in downtown Safford serving Blue Bell ice cream, small-batch fresh baked goods, candy, and other dessert treats. The shop also offers treats for events and is known for its welcoming small-town atmosphere
