Cool off this Independence Day at Big Buckle Roofing LLC Safford Pool Day, presented by Gila Valley Mortgage and hosted by the City of Safford. The pool will be open free of charge from 1 to 5 p.m., giving families a chance to beat the summer heat and enjoy an afternoon of fun in the water. The first 200 children in attendance will receive complimentary hot dogs and chips while supplies last. Bring the family and make a splash as part of the Gila Valley 250 Independence Day celebration. Trailhead Hideaway
Community members interested in volunteering with Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to learn more during an upcoming paint-and-sip recruitment event scheduled for Thursday, June 25. The event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Trailhead Hideaway and is designed to introduce prospective volunteers to Girl Scouts and local opportunities to get involved. Organizers said the event is free for the first 10 people who register. Registration includes canvases and art supplies, a soft drink, appetizers and information about Girl Scouts and volunteer opportunities within the organization. The event aims to provide a relaxed and creative environment where attendees can ask questions and learn more about supporting local youth programs through Girl Scouts. Interested participants can register through the QR code provided on the event flyer.
