The Graham County Board of Supervisors will hold regular meetings on the first and third Mondays of every month of every calendar year. Should Monday be a legal holiday the Board of Supervisors meeting will be held on the following Tuesday.

St. Vincent de Paul will host a series of Back-to-School Time events this summer to help local children prepare for the upcoming school year. The events will take place at St. Vincent de Paul, located at 221 E. Main St. in Safford, on June 15, July 6 and July 27 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Services are available for preschool-aged children through school-aged students. Organizers noted that parent and child identification will be required and that each child may participate one time only. Each child attending will receive: • New shoes • New socks • New underwear Children will also have the opportunity to choose additional donated items while supplies last, including: • Tops • Pants • Dresses • Jackets • Sweaters • Books Please note that this service will not be available on Mondays outside of the listed event dates.

Cool off this Independence Day at Big Buckle Roofing LLC Safford Pool Day, presented by Gila Valley Mortgage and hosted by the City of Safford. The pool will be open free of charge from 1 to 5 p.m., giving families a chance to beat the summer heat and enjoy an afternoon of fun in the water. The first 200 children in attendance will receive complimentary hot dogs and chips while supplies last. Bring the family and make a splash as part of the Gila Valley 250 Independence Day celebration. Enjoy an evening of live music on the United Way Graham and Greenlee Counties Community Stage before the fireworks as the ZGF Band performs a mix of dance music, party favorites, and crowd-pleasing hits. Presented by Energy Solutions and hosted by Graham County, this free concert will keep the energy high and the celebration going as families and friends gather for the Freeport-McMoRan Fireworks.
