The People’s Parade is a family-focused Independence Day tradition celebrating community participation in the Gila Valley 250 4th of July festivities. The parade features decorated bicycles, walking families, and informal community entries such as the Gila Valley Freedom Band. The event is intentionally non-commercial and non-political, with no organizational entries or political participation allowed. It is designed as a simple, open, and family-friendly celebration with no registration required, making it easy for children and families to participate safely and creatively. Cool off this Independence Day at Big Buckle Roofing LLC Safford Pool Day, presented by Gila Valley Mortgage and hosted by the City of Safford. The pool will be open free of charge from 1 to 5 p.m., giving families a chance to beat the summer heat and enjoy an afternoon of fun in the water. The first 200 children in attendance will receive complimentary hot dogs and chips while supplies last. Bring the family and make a splash as part of the Gila Valley 250 Independence Day celebration. Building on several years of tradition, KeyHole Properties and the Eastern Arizona Historical Society and Museum will offer a patriotic community breakfast featuring pancakes, eggs, and bacon, along with a brief patriotic program hosted by the Town of Pima. The free event is expected to serve approximately 1,000 people, with elected officials from across the Gila Valley helping serve breakfast. Donations will be accepted. About This Event Join the Town of Thatcher and presenting sponsor Big Buckle Roofing LLC for the Eastern Arizona College Splash Pad Party on Independence Day from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The Thatcher Fire Department will kick off the event with a fun community spray down. Cool off at the splash pad, enjoy family-friendly activities, and take advantage of complimentary hot dog meals generously sponsored by Food City. Hot dog meals will be available for the first 600–800 attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. Children can also enjoy FREE face painting throughout the event. Trailhead Hideaway

Community members interested in volunteering with Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to learn more during an upcoming paint-and-sip recruitment event scheduled for Thursday, June 25. The event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Trailhead Hideaway and is designed to introduce prospective volunteers to Girl Scouts and local opportunities to get involved. Organizers said the event is free for the first 10 people who register. Registration includes canvases and art supplies, a soft drink, appetizers and information about Girl Scouts and volunteer opportunities within the organization. The event aims to provide a relaxed and creative environment where attendees can ask questions and learn more about supporting local youth programs through Girl Scouts. Interested participants can register through the QR code provided on the event flyer.
