Gila Valley Arts Council (GVAC) was formed in 1985 to support and sponsor performing arts in the Gila Valley. During its years of existence, the mission of GVAC has focused on exposing the counties’ youth to the world of the arts. Services are provided in a variety of ways. At the Eastern Arizona Museum, history isn’t just something we display—it’s something we protect, share, and celebrate. Located in the heart of Pima, our museum serves as a community anchor where the stories of early settlers, hardworking families, and everyday life in the Gila Valley come to life. From vintage photos and journals to pioneer tools and textiles, every piece we preserve helps tell the story of what it meant—and still means—to call this place home.
